Aftercare before you fly home
The days between treatment and your flight matter. Here is how to protect your skin, what to pack and how to stay in touch with your doctor once you leave Seoul.
Why the last days of your trip matter
Treated skin is busy repairing itself. In the first days after a laser, injectable or lifting treatment, the skin barrier may be more sensitive, and swelling or redness can still be settling. Travel adds its own stresses: dry cabin air, long hours sitting still, time-zone changes, late nights and sometimes strong sun on arrival. None of these is usually a reason to avoid flying, but a little planning helps your skin recover calmly and protects the result you came for.
Before you leave the clinic
- Ask for clear aftercare instructions. Your doctor will explain what to do and avoid for your specific treatment. Ask questions in English until you are comfortable.
- Collect your prescribed home care. We prescribe pH-5.5-matched products chosen to protect the barrier after treatment. Check how and when to use each one.
- Book a check if you can. A short visit before your flight lets the team see how your skin is settling.
- Save our WhatsApp contact. You can message the team after you are home if you have questions.
- Know what you had. Your treatment details are recorded in your Skin Library. Ask for a summary if you would like one for your own records or your local doctor.
The day before your flight
- Keep your routine simple: gentle cleanser, prescribed products and sunscreen.
- Avoid new products, scrubs, exfoliating acids and retinoids unless your doctor has said they are fine.
- Skip sauna, jjimjilbang and heavy drinking — heat and alcohol can increase swelling and redness.
- Sleep well. Rest supports recovery more than any product.
On the plane
Cabin air is very dry, which can leave freshly treated skin feeling tight. A few simple habits help:
- Hydrate from inside. Drink water regularly and go easy on alcohol and caffeine.
- Moisturise the barrier. Pack your prescribed moisturiser in a travel-size container that meets cabin liquid rules and reapply during long flights.
- Hands off. Avoid touching, rubbing or pressing treated areas, especially after filler or threads.
- Window seats and sun. Daylight through aircraft windows can be strong. Close the blind or reapply sunscreen on daytime flights after laser.
- Move around. Stretch and walk when you can on long flights.
Aftercare by treatment type
After laser and skin renewal
Use SPF50 or higher every day and reapply when outdoors. Skin cells renew roughly every 28 days, so protecting the skin through that first cycle matters. See flying after laser for more.
After Botox or filler
On the day, avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and strenuous exercise. Botox takes 3–7 days to start working and peaks around 2 weeks, so the full effect may appear after you are home. See flying after Botox or filler .
After energy lifting
A pulling sensation is normal at first. Results build gradually, with noticeable change at 1–3 months and the final result at 3–6 months, so keep up sun protection and barrier care at home.
When you get home
Continue your prescribed routine and sunscreen. If you notice anything that worries you — increasing pain, swelling that gets worse rather than better, or signs of infection — contact a local doctor promptly and message us on WhatsApp so we can share what was done. Results vary from person to person, and the team is happy to answer questions as your skin settles.
Packing checklist for treated skin
A small pouch in your hand luggage makes the journey easier:
- Your prescribed moisturiser and cleanser, decanted into containers that meet cabin liquid rules.
- SPF50+ sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat or cap for your arrival.
- A clean, soft cloth or cotton pads rather than rough tissues or wipes.
- Lip balm and a refillable water bottle to fill after security.
- Sunglasses, especially after treatment around the eyes.
- Your treatment summary and the clinic's WhatsApp contact, in case you need to show a local doctor what was done.

Questions about aftercare and flying
Can I wear make-up on the flight?
It depends on your treatment. After laser or microneedling, skin may need a short break from make-up, so ask your doctor what is suitable and when you can start again.
Can I take my prescribed skincare in hand luggage?
Yes, as long as liquids and creams meet your airline's cabin rules. Decant into travel-size containers or put larger items in checked luggage.
What if my skin reacts after I get home?
Mild redness or swelling that steadily improves is common. If something gets worse or worries you, see a local doctor promptly and message us on WhatsApp so we can share what was done.
How soon can I fly after treatment?
For many treatments flying soon afterwards is possible, but it is better not to have a significant treatment on your final day. Your doctor will advise based on what you had.
