Follow-up care from abroad
Your relationship with the clinic does not end at the airport. Here is how we stay in touch after you fly home and how to plan your next visit.
Why follow-up matters when you live far away
Many of the treatments people travel to Seoul for keep developing after the visit. Energy lifting such as Ultherapy PRIME or Thermage shows noticeable change at around 1–3 months and its final result at 3–6 months. Collagen stimulators start working at 1–3 months and peak at 3–6. Botox reaches its peak at around 2 weeks. That means the most important part of your result often appears when you are already home. Good follow-up helps you understand what is normal, keep your skin protected and decide when it is worth coming back.
How we stay in touch
WhatsApp in English
The same WhatsApp line you used to book stays open after your visit. You can send questions, describe how your skin feels and share photos. The team will pass clinical questions to the medical staff and reply with guidance, or suggest you see a doctor locally if something needs to be examined in person.
Your Skin Library record
Every treatment you have at Obliv is recorded in your Skin Library, our digital treatment record. It holds what was done, where and how, so the doctors can refer back to it when you message from abroad or return for your next visit. If you need a summary for your own doctor at home, ask the team.
Sending useful photos
Photos help the team understand how your skin is responding. To make them useful:
- Take them in natural daylight, facing a window, without filters or beauty mode.
- Remove make-up and pull hair back from your face.
- Take a straight-on photo and one from each side at the same distance.
- Use the same spot and lighting each time so changes are easy to compare.
- Add a short note with the date of treatment and what you are noticing.
What is normal, and when to seek help locally
Mild redness, slight swelling, tightness or a pulling sensation that steadily improves is common after many treatments. Collagen stimulators can cause temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness. If you notice increasing pain, swelling that gets worse instead of better, signs of infection, unusual skin colour changes after filler or anything that worries you, please see a local doctor or emergency service promptly. Then let us know on WhatsApp so we can share what was done. Remote messages are useful for guidance, but they cannot replace an in-person examination when one is needed.
Keeping results going at home
- Sun protection: SPF50 or higher every day, especially after laser and pigment treatments.
- Prescribed home care: Keep using your pH-5.5-matched routine as directed. See skincare to take home .
- Gentle habits: Avoid harsh scrubs and strong peels that weaken the barrier.
- Patience: Lifting and collagen results build gradually. Comparing photos month by month is more useful than checking the mirror daily.
Planning your next visit
Many plans work best over time. Skin renewal treatments for pigment or texture are often spaced around the skin's roughly 28-day cycle, and acne scar programmes are typically 3–5 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Energy lifting usually lasts around 6–18 months depending on the device, Botox around 4–6 months and filler from about 6 to 18 months. When you know your next travel dates, message us and the team will suggest what may be worth repeating or adding. A director will review your Skin Library record and see you in person to confirm the plan. Results vary from person to person.
A simple check-in schedule
You do not need to message us constantly, but a few planned check-ins make it easier to spot whether things are on track. Many visitors find this rhythm helpful:
- First few days: note how redness, swelling or tenderness is settling. Message us if anything is getting worse rather than better.
- Around two weeks: a good time to look at Botox results, which usually peak at about this point.
- One to three months: take comparison photos for lifting and collagen treatments, when change often starts to become noticeable.
- Before your next trip: share your dates and recent photos so the team can prepare.
If you are planning a return visit, our how to book page explains the process, and planning your treatment trip helps you fit appointments around your stay.

Questions about follow-up
Can I message the clinic after I fly home?
Yes. Use the same WhatsApp line in English. Send photos and a short description and the team will reply with guidance or suggest seeing a local doctor if an examination is needed.
Can I get a record of my treatment for my own doctor?
Your treatments are recorded in your Skin Library. Ask the team if you would like a summary to share with your doctor at home.
When should I come back for more treatment?
It depends on what you had. Botox often lasts around 4–6 months, filler about 6–18 months and energy lifting around 6–18 months depending on the device. The team can suggest timing based on your record.
What if I have a problem after I get home?
If anything is getting worse or worries you, see a local doctor promptly, then message us so we can share details of what was done.
