A non-surgical face lift in Seoul

Lifting without an operation works best when each depth gets the right tool — ultrasound for the SMAS, radiofrequency for the dermis, threads and support where tissue has moved.

What a non-surgical face lift really means

A non-surgical face lift is not one procedure. It is a combination of treatments that tighten, lift and support the face without incisions or general anaesthesia. People usually consider it when they notice a softer jawline, early jowls, a lower midface, deepening folds or skin that has lost its firmness — but are not ready for, or do not want, surgery.

It is worth being clear about the trade-off. Surgery can move tissue further and the change is more dramatic. Non-surgical lifting works more gradually and subtly, with little or no downtime, and it needs maintenance. For many people, especially with mild to moderate laxity, that balance is exactly what they want.

Which layers are involved

Using our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, lifting is about the layers that hold the face up:

  • Fascia (SMAS): the supporting layer that surgeons lift in a facelift. Focused ultrasound can reach it without surgery.
  • Lower and full-thickness dermis: where collagen gives skin its firmness. Radiofrequency heats this layer evenly.
  • Subcutaneous fat: descended or excess fat can weigh down the lower face.
  • Deep support and bone: lost structure means tissue has less to rest on, which lifting alone cannot restore.

A director examines your face at the first consultation to decide which depths to treat first.

Building a plan

Our Contour programme is the core, often combined with other programmes:

  • HIFU — lifting at depth. Focused ultrasound reaches points at 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm and heats them to around 65–70°C. Ultherapy PRIME is the benchmark for deep sagging with multi-depth treatment; OLIGIO HIFU also reaches the SMAS; CoolSoniq uses cooling for a gentler experience.
  • RF — tightening the dermis. Thermage uses monopolar RF for whole-dermis tightening; OLIGIO X targets the lower dermis for collagen remodelling. Many plans combine HIFU and RF — see Ultherapy + Thermage .
  • Threads — repositioning tissue. MINT Lift barbed PDO threads lift tissue immediately and stimulate collagen as they dissolve. JAMBER adds lift and volume with a scaffold design.
  • Fat reduction. Onda selectively heats fat under the chin and below the cheeks where heaviness blurs the contour.
  • Support and quality. Collagen stimulators combine well with energy lifting; filler can restore structure where volume has been lost.

Timeline before a trip or event

After energy lifting, you may feel a pulling sensation straight away. Changes are usually noticeable after 1–3 months, with final results at 3–6 months as new collagen forms. Threads give an immediate lift, though some tenderness or swelling can last a few days. For an important date, start three to six months ahead. Because downtime is generally low, a short stay in Seoul is often enough for a lifting session.

Keeping your results

  • HIFU results typically last around 12–18 months, and RF around 6–12 months.
  • Maintenance sessions plus collagen support help results hold.
  • On the day of thread or injection treatments, avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and strenuous exercise.
  • Daily SPF50+ protects the collagen you are building.

Results vary from person to person. Every session is recorded in your Skin Library.

When non-surgical lifting may not be enough

Honest planning includes knowing the limits. Energy-based lifting and threads tend to suit mild to moderate laxity best. If the skin is very loose, or tissue has moved a long way, the improvement from non-surgical options may be modest, and the doctor will say so at consultation rather than recommending treatment that is unlikely to meet your expectations.

It also helps to know which concern is really driving the change. A heavy lower face may be partly fat, so fullness under the chin is assessed separately from sagging. Hollowing in the midface may need support rather than tightening. Looking at each layer in turn is what makes the plan realistic, and results vary from person to person.

Questions about non-surgical face lifts

  • How is this different from a surgical facelift?

Surgery can reposition tissue further and gives a more dramatic change, but involves incisions and recovery. Non-surgical lifting is gradual and subtle, with little downtime, and needs maintenance. Your doctor will tell you honestly which suits your degree of laxity.

  • Is there downtime?

Energy lifting usually has little downtime, though some redness, swelling or tenderness is possible. Thread lifts can cause tenderness or swelling for a few days. We explain what to expect for each treatment.

  • Does HIFU hurt?

Sensation varies from person to person and by depth. CoolSoniq uses cooling and is generally more comfortable. Your doctor will discuss comfort options before treatment.

  • How much does it cost?

It depends on the devices, areas and any combination treatments. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
