Skin tag removal in Seoul

Skin tags are small, soft growths that often appear on the neck, underarms and eyelids. A doctor checks each one first, then removes suitable tags with a method chosen for their size and location.

What skin tags are

Skin tags are small, soft, often skin-coloured or slightly darker growths that hang from the skin on a narrow stalk. They are very common and usually appear where skin folds or rubs — the neck, underarms, eyelids, groin and under the chest. They tend to become more frequent with age and can multiply over time. Skin tags are generally harmless, but many people find them annoying when they catch on necklaces, collars or razors, or simply dislike how they look.

Why a doctor looks first

Not every small bump is a skin tag. Some growths that look similar — including certain moles or other lesions — need a different approach. At Obliv a doctor examines each growth before removal. If something does not look like a straightforward skin tag, the doctor will discuss it with you, and anything suspicious is assessed and referred for proper medical evaluation where needed rather than removed for cosmetic reasons.

Which layer it involves and who it suits

In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, skin tags arise from the epidermis and the very top of the upper dermis . Because they sit so close to the surface, removal is usually quick and healing is generally straightforward. Skin tag removal may suit you if:

  • You have soft, stalked growths in areas of friction
  • They catch on clothing or jewellery, or bother you cosmetically
  • A doctor has confirmed they are suitable for removal
  • You can keep the area clean and protected while it heals

What happens on the day

You meet a director for a consultation and point out the tags you would like removed. The doctor confirms which are suitable and explains the method — this depends on the size of each tag and where it is, with extra care around delicate areas such as the eyelids. Rather than naming one device for every case, the doctor recommends the right option at consultation.

Where needed, the area is numbed for comfort. The tags are removed, the skin is cleaned and soothed, and you receive aftercare instructions. Several tags can often be treated in one visit, depending on their number and location.

Healing and results

Each treated spot usually forms a tiny scab that falls away on its own as new skin forms underneath. Some pinkness may remain for a while before the skin settles to its normal colour. Healing varies from person to person and by area. Removing a skin tag does not stop new ones forming elsewhere, so some people return for occasional touch-ups over the years.

Caring for your skin afterwards

  • Keep the treated spots clean and dry, and avoid picking at scabs
  • Avoid tight collars or jewellery rubbing on the area while it heals
  • Skip saunas, swimming and intense exercise as long as the doctor advises
  • Use SPF50+ on exposed areas once healed to reduce the chance of darkening
  • Support the barrier with pH-5.5 prescribed home care

Often considered alongside

People who want skin tags removed often ask about other small surface concerns at the same visit. Moles are assessed separately — see mole removal . Small white bumps may be milia , which are a different issue. If you also want to work on overall texture or tone, your doctor can suggest whether skin renewal treatments fit in later, once the treated spots have healed.

For international visitors

Skin tag removal is usually a short appointment and fits easily into a trip to Seoul. Booking early in your stay gives the treated spots time to begin healing before you fly. Send photos on WhatsApp so we can plan the visit, but the final decision on each tag is made after the doctor examines you in person. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.

Questions about skin tag removal

  • Does skin tag removal hurt?

Most people find it quick and tolerable. Where needed, the area is numbed first. Sensitivity varies with the location, and the doctor will take extra care in delicate areas such as the eyelids.

  • Can several skin tags be removed in one visit?

Often, yes. The number that can be treated at once depends on their size and location and on what the doctor feels is sensible for healing. We will confirm this at consultation.

  • Will the skin tags come back?

A tag that has been removed properly does not usually regrow in the same spot, but new tags can form elsewhere over time, especially in areas of friction. Some people return for occasional touch-ups.

  • How is a skin tag different from a mole?

Skin tags are soft growths on a narrow stalk, while moles are clusters of pigment cells that can be flat or raised. Because they can look alike, a doctor examines each one before removal and refers anything suspicious for proper medical evaluation.
