Skin tag removal in Seoul

Skin tags are harmless but can catch on necklaces, collars and razors. A doctor confirms what they are first, then removes suitable tags with a quick, precise treatment.

What skin tags are

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured or slightly darker growths that often hang from the skin on a thin stalk. They are very common and usually appear in places where skin rubs against skin or clothing: the neck, underarms, eyelids, under the breasts, the groin and along bra or collar lines. They can be as small as a grain of rice or a little larger.

Skin tags are benign and not contagious. Most people want them removed because they catch on jewellery, clothing or a razor and become irritated, or simply because they are visible on the neck or face. Some people also have small, flat brown bumps on the neck that look similar but are a different type of growth; the doctor will tell you which you have.

Why they happen: which layers are involved

In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, skin tags involve the epidermis and a small core of upper dermis with tiny blood vessels. They tend to form where there is repeated friction. They become more common with age, and are also linked to weight changes, hormonal shifts such as pregnancy, and family tendency. New tags can continue to appear over time, so removal treats the existing ones rather than preventing future ones.

How Obliv approaches skin tags

  • Doctor examination first. A doctor looks at each growth to confirm it is a skin tag and suitable for removal. Anything that looks unusual — for example, a growth that is changing, bleeding or has an irregular colour — is assessed separately and referred for proper medical evaluation if needed. See our moles page for more on this.
  • Precise removal. Suitable tags are removed in a short appointment using a method chosen for their size and location. Delicate areas such as the eyelids need particular care, and the doctor will explain the approach for each area. More detail is on our skin tag removal page.
  • Several at once. If you have multiple tags, many can often be treated in the same visit.
  • Healing support. We protect the treated skin afterwards and give you simple aftercare instructions.

What to expect

Treatment is quick. Afterwards, each treated spot usually forms a tiny scab that falls off on its own within days to a couple of weeks, leaving a pink mark that fades. Larger tags may take a little longer to settle. Visible marks are usually minimal, but healing varies from person to person, especially on darker or more sensitive skin.

Aftercare

  • Keep the area clean and dry, and follow the ointment instructions you are given.
  • Avoid rubbing the area with tight collars, straps or jewellery while it heals.
  • Do not pick scabs; let them come away naturally.
  • Use SPF50+ on exposed areas such as the neck and face to reduce the risk of darkening.

Visiting from abroad

Skin tag removal fits easily into a short stay and has little downtime, so it is a popular add-on to other treatments. Let us know roughly how many tags you have and where, and send photos with your travel dates on WhatsApp so we can plan your appointment.

Fitting skin tag removal into your trip

Because removal is quick, it is easy to add to a visit that is mainly for something else. A few practical points help it go smoothly:

  • Book it early in your stay so the doctor can check how the areas are settling before you leave, if your schedule allows.
  • Plan clothing and jewellery that will not rub on the neck or underarms for a few days, especially on long flights.
  • Think about sun and water. If you are going to the beach or a spa straight afterwards, tell the doctor, as fresh scabs need protecting.
  • Bring a list of areas so nothing is missed, including any spots you would like checked rather than removed.

Questions about skin tags

  • Are skin tags dangerous?

Skin tags themselves are benign. However, other growths can look similar, so a doctor examines each one before removal and refers anything unusual for proper evaluation.

  • Does removal hurt?

Most people find it quick and very tolerable. The doctor will discuss comfort options for sensitive areas before treatment.

  • Will they grow back?

A removed tag does not usually return in the same spot, but new tags can form elsewhere over time, especially in areas of friction.

  • Can you remove tags on the eyelids?

Often, yes, with extra care because the skin is very thin. The doctor will examine the area and advise whether removal is suitable.
