Body contouring in Seoul

Non-surgical body contouring for stubborn areas that do not respond to diet and exercise. A doctor assesses the area first and plans treatment around the layer involved.

What body contouring is

Body contouring refers to non-surgical treatments that aim to refine the shape of specific areas — for example the abdomen, flanks, thighs or arms — where small pockets of fat or loose skin remain despite a healthy lifestyle. It is not a weight-loss method. The best candidates are people who are close to their goal weight and want to improve the contour of particular areas.

At Obliv, body treatments are provided in the Skin & Body Clinic on the 1st and 2nd floors of Pagoda Tower. A doctor assesses the area, discusses your goals and recommends the approach that fits.

Which layers are involved

In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, body contour concerns usually involve the subcutaneous fat layer and, where there is laxity, the dermis above it. Diagnosing which layer is the main issue matters: localised fat responds to treatments that target fat, while loose or crepey skin needs approaches that work on the skin's support.

How we approach body contouring

Body Onda for stubborn fat

Body Onda uses microwave energy to selectively heat the fat layer. Microwave technology is designed to concentrate its effect in fat while sparing the skin surface, which makes it suitable for areas of stubborn, localised fat. The doctor maps the area and decides how it should be treated.

When skin laxity is part of the picture

If the concern is loose skin rather than fat — for example after weight change — the doctor may discuss options that support firmness. These are explained at consultation, as the right choice depends on the area and how much laxity is present. See body skin laxity for more.

Cellulite and texture

Cellulite involves the structure of fat and connective tissue beneath the skin. It can be improved in appearance but is common and rarely disappears entirely. The doctor will be honest about what can realistically be achieved — see cellulite .

What happens on the day

You meet a doctor who examines the areas you would like to treat, discusses your health history and explains the options. Your plan is recorded in your Skin Library. If treatment goes ahead, the area is prepared and treated; sensations are usually described as warmth, and comfort is checked throughout. Most people return to normal activities afterwards.

Downtime, results and how long they last

Non-surgical body contouring generally involves little downtime. Temporary redness, warmth or tenderness in the treated area can occur. Changes develop gradually as the body processes treated fat, so results are judged over weeks rather than immediately, and a course of sessions may be suggested. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve results. Results vary from person to person.

Is it right for me?

  • Good fit: stubborn, pinchable fat in specific areas, near your goal weight
  • Consider other options: significant weight to lose, or mainly loose skin
  • Not suitable without medical advice: pregnancy, certain implants or medical conditions — tell the doctor about your health history

For facial fat under the chin or below the cheeks, see Onda Face .

For international visitors

Because downtime is usually limited, body contouring can be scheduled during a trip, with results developing after you return home. Message us on WhatsApp with the areas you are interested in and your travel dates, and ask for a personalised quote.

Keeping results at home

Non-surgical contouring works best alongside the habits that keep your weight stable. Treated fat is processed gradually, so the weeks after a session are a good time to stay consistent rather than to change everything at once.

  • Keep up regular movement — walking, strength work or whatever you enjoy
  • Stay well hydrated and eat in a way you can sustain
  • Take progress photos in the same light every few weeks, as changes are gradual
  • Message us on WhatsApp if you notice tenderness that does not settle

If you are also thinking about facial contour, our page on a slimmer-looking face explains how the face is approached differently.

Questions about body contouring

  • Is body contouring a way to lose weight?

No. It is designed to refine specific areas of stubborn fat in people who are close to their goal weight. It is not a substitute for healthy eating and exercise.

  • How does Body Onda work?

Body Onda uses microwave energy to selectively heat the fat layer while sparing the skin surface. The doctor decides which areas suit treatment and how they should be treated.

  • When will I see results?

Changes develop gradually over weeks as the body processes treated fat, and a course may be recommended. Results vary from person to person and are best maintained with a stable weight.

  • Can I treat loose skin as well as fat?

Loose skin is a different issue from fat and may need a different approach. The doctor will assess both and explain the options that suit your area and goals.
