Neck wrinkle treatment in Seoul

Neck skin is thin, moves constantly and is often forgotten in skincare. We look at whether your lines come from creasing, thinning or laxity, then plan gentle, layered treatment to help the neck match your face.

What neck wrinkles are

Neck wrinkles come in a few forms. The most common are horizontal rings or bands — sometimes called “necklace lines” — that circle the front of the neck. Some people also notice fine crepey texture, vertical cords that stand out when they talk or tense, or general looseness under the jaw. Horizontal lines can appear surprisingly early, even in the twenties, especially in people who spend long hours looking down at phones and laptops. Because the face often gets more care than the neck, the contrast between the two can become noticeable with time.

Why they form and which layers are involved

In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, neck lines usually involve:

  • Epidermis and upper dermis. Neck skin is thinner than facial skin and has fewer oil glands, so it dehydrates easily. Collagen declines by roughly 1% a year from around 20, and UV exposure — the neck is often missed with sunscreen — breaks it down further.
  • Full-thickness dermis. Repeated bending folds the same lines day after day. Over time, the dermis loses the elasticity to bounce back.
  • Muscle. A thin sheet of muscle in the neck can form visible vertical bands when it contracts strongly.
  • Fat and support. Changes below the jaw, such as fullness under the chin or loosening support, affect how the neck looks overall.

How Obliv approaches neck wrinkles

  • Diagnosis first. A director examines your neck at rest and with movement, and checks the jawline and under-chin area, since they often need to be considered together.
  • Hydration and regeneration. Skin boosters (HA, PDRN, exosomes, growth factors) and Rejuran can be placed along the lines to support hydration, elasticity and regeneration in thin skin. Mirajet offers a needle-free option for delivering hydrating ingredients.
  • Collagen building. Collagen-stimulating injections such as PCL or PLLA may be considered for crepey texture, with results beginning around 1–3 months.
  • Tightening. RF such as Thermage heats evenly through the dermis to tighten loose skin, while Sofwave works at 1.5 mm for texture and firmness. HIFU may be suggested where there is laxity under the jaw.
  • Softening bands. Where vertical cords stand out, your doctor may suggest Botox to relax the neck muscle.

What to expect

Booster and Rejuran treatments are usually done as a short series, with small bumps or injection marks that settle within a day or two. Collagen stimulators work gradually, peaking around 3–6 months. RF tightening gives some immediate firmness and continues to improve over the following months, lasting roughly 6–12 months. Deep horizontal lines tend to soften rather than disappear completely, and results vary from person to person.

Caring for your neck between visits

  • Extend sunscreen (SPF50+) and moisturiser down to the neck every day.
  • Raise your phone and screen to eye level to reduce constant bending.
  • Use the pH-5.5-matched home care we prescribe on both face and neck.

Visiting from abroad

Neck treatments usually involve little downtime, so they fit well into a short stay, often alongside facial treatments. Message us on WhatsApp with photos and your travel dates, and we will help you plan.

How neck treatment fits with the jaw and face

The neck is closely connected to the lower face, so we often look at both together. Loosening along the jawline, fullness under the chin and neck lines can all make the lower third of the face look less defined, even when the skin on the cheeks still looks fresh.

In practice, this might mean pairing neck boosters with tightening for a blurred jawline , or treating fullness under the chin with Onda, a microwave device that selectively heats fat in that area. Treating the face and neck in the same session also helps keep skin tone and texture consistent between the two.

Neck skin can respond more slowly than facial skin, so patience and a steady routine matter. Many people find that a short series of hydrating treatments followed by occasional maintenance keeps the area looking smoother. Your doctor will suggest a realistic schedule based on your skin and travel plans.

Questions about neck wrinkles

  • Why do I have neck lines in my 20s or 30s?

Horizontal neck lines can be partly natural and are made more visible by frequent looking down at screens, dehydration and sun exposure. Early care focuses on hydration, sun protection and better posture.

  • Which treatment is best for horizontal neck lines?

Skin boosters or Rejuran placed along the lines are often used to support hydration and elasticity, sometimes combined with tightening treatments. Your doctor will recommend a plan after examining your neck.

  • Is there downtime?

Usually very little. Small bumps or injection marks from boosters typically settle within a day or two. Energy treatments may cause brief redness.

  • Can I treat my face and neck in the same visit?

Often yes, and many people prefer to so the results look balanced. Your doctor will plan the order and spacing of treatments.
