OLIGIO X uses 6.78 MHz monopolar radiofrequency to warm the lower dermis and encourage collagen remodelling. It is a way to firm the skin's foundation when it has started to feel thinner and less elastic.

What OLIGIO X is and how it works

OLIGIO X is a monopolar radiofrequency (RF) device operating at 6.78 MHz. Radiofrequency energy creates gentle, even heat through a volume of tissue rather than at single points. As the dermis warms to roughly 65–75°C, existing collagen fibres contract and the skin's collagen-producing cells (fibroblasts) are prompted to remodel and rebuild over the following weeks and months.

The aim is not a dramatic lift but firmer, denser-feeling skin with a smoother surface — the kind of change that makes the face look rested and well supported rather than "done".

Which layer it targets and who it suits

Our 8-layer Skin Architecture model divides the face into epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone. OLIGIO X focuses on the lower dermis , the deepest part of the skin where much of its structural collagen sits. When this layer thins, skin starts to feel looser and creases form more easily, even before the deeper support structures descend.

What happens on the day

A director sees you from the first consultation. The doctor examines how your skin moves and where laxity begins; Mark-Vu imaging records your skin condition, and every treatment is logged in your Skin Library. We decide depth first and only then select the device.

On the day, your skin is cleansed and a conductive medium is applied. The handpiece is moved across the treatment zones in passes, delivering warmth into the skin while the surface is protected. Many people describe the feeling as a building heat that comes and goes. Comfort differs from person to person, and the doctor can adjust the settings. Barrier-protecting care is applied afterwards.

Downtime, results and how long they last

OLIGIO X usually has minimal downtime. Temporary redness or a warm, flushed feeling may last a few hours. Most people continue with their day as planned.

Is it right for me?

OLIGIO X is best suited to mild to moderate laxity.     Both are monopolar RF treatments that heat the dermis evenly. Thermage works across the full-thickness dermis at around 3.0 mm, while OLIGIO X is used with a focus on the lower dermis and collagen remodelling. The doctor chooses between them based on your skin and goals.

  • Is OLIGIO X painful?

    Most people feel waves of warmth during the session. Sensitivity varies from person to person, and the doctor can adjust the energy so the treatment stays tolerable.

  • How soon will I notice a difference?

    Some firmness may be felt right after treatment. Changes usually become more noticeable over 1–3 months, with the final result at around 3–6 months.

  • Can it be combined with HIFU on the same trip?
