What refreshed eyes really means
The eyes are usually the first place people notice tiredness or ageing — in yourself and in others. Refreshed eyes look awake and bright, without heavy shadows underneath, without crepey skin, and without lines that make you look tense or tired. The goal is not to change the shape of your eyes, but to soften the features that make them look older or more exhausted than you feel.
Several different things can create a tired look. Under-eye hollows cast shadows that read as dark circles. Thin, crepey skin shows the colour of the vessels and muscle beneath. Pigment can darken the area. Crow's feet and fine lines deepen with repeated smiling and squinting. Understanding which of these applies to you is the most important step.
Which layers are involved
Our 8-layer Skin Architecture model helps us separate the causes around the eyes:
- Epidermis: pigment that darkens the under-eye area and dryness that emphasises fine lines.
- Upper dermis: the skin around the eyes is among the thinnest on the face, so collagen loss shows quickly as crepiness.
- Muscle: the circular muscle around the eye creates crow's feet with every smile.
- Fat and bone support: with age, support around the eye socket reduces and fat shifts, creating hollows and a visible groove under the eye.
A director examines your eye area in different lighting and expressions, and Mark-Vu imaging can help separate pigment from shadow.
Building a plan
Eye-area plans are usually built from small, precise steps:
- Hollows. Under-eye filler using a suitable HA filler can soften a groove or hollow that casts shadow. Placement is conservative, because the area is delicate.
- Thin, crepey skin. Skin boosters and Rejuran support hydration and regeneration in thin skin. Collagen stimulation and gentle upper-dermis RF may also be considered where suitable.
- Crow's feet. Crow's feet Botox relaxes the muscle that creates lines when you smile. It begins to work within 3–7 days and lasts about 4–6 months.
- Pigment. Where brown discoloration contributes, gentle laser toning may help over several sessions.
- Supporting the midface. Sometimes tiredness around the eyes comes from a flattened cheek below; restoring cheek support can make the eyes look fresher too.
We always reinforce the barrier before and protect it after treatment, which is particularly important on this delicate skin.
Timeline before a trip or event
Botox reaches its peak around two weeks after treatment. Filler gives an immediate change, but under-eye swelling or bruising can take a week or two to settle, so allow at least two to three weeks before an event. Skin boosters and Rejuran improve skin quality gradually over a short course. On a short visit to Seoul, Botox and a hydrating treatment fit easily; filler is best done early in your stay.
Keeping your results
- HA filler typically lasts around 6–18 months, depending on the product and area; Botox around 4–6 months.
- Wear sunglasses and SPF50+ daily — the eye area is sensitive to UV.
- Use the gentle home care we prescribe and avoid rubbing the eyes.
Results vary from person to person. Your Skin Library record keeps each treatment on file.
Aftercare for the eye area in the first week
The skin around the eyes is thin and reacts more visibly than other areas, so gentle aftercare matters:
- On the day of injections, avoid touching or pressing the area for four to six hours, and skip saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise.
- Sleep with your head slightly raised for the first night or two if there is any swelling after filler.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes and remove eye make-up gently; consider leaving it off for the first day.
- Wear sunglasses outdoors and apply SPF50+ around, not on, the eyelids.
- If you wear contact lenses, ask the doctor whether to switch to glasses for a short time.
If bruising or swelling seems to be increasing rather than settling, message the team on WhatsApp so a doctor can advise. If you are flying home soon, read flying after Botox and filler . Results vary from person to person.

Questions about refreshed eyes
Are my dark circles caused by pigment or hollows?
It can be either, or both. Hollows create shadows that change with lighting, while pigment stays the same colour. A doctor examines the area in different light, and Mark-Vu imaging can help tell them apart.
Is under-eye filler safe?
The under-eye area is delicate, so filler there requires careful assessment and conservative placement. Not everyone is a suitable candidate. Your doctor will explain the risks and alternatives at consultation.
Will crow's feet Botox change my smile?
The aim is to soften lines while keeping a natural smile. Doses can be adjusted to how much movement you want to keep. Tell your doctor your preference.
How much does it cost?
It depends on which treatments your eye area needs. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
