Under-Eye Filler in Seoul
Hollows under the eyes can make you look tired even after a good night’s sleep. Our doctors assess whether filler is the right answer first, then treat with a light, precise hand.
What under-eye filler is and how it works
Under-eye filler places a small amount of soft gel into the hollow between the lower eyelid and the cheek — the area often called the tear trough. When this groove deepens, it casts a shadow that can look like a dark circle or make the face seem tired. Gently filling the hollow can help smooth the transition from lid to cheek so light falls more evenly.
The under-eye area has thin skin and very little room for error, so the product, amount and depth all matter. Most under-eye work uses a soft hyaluronic acid (HA) filler , which is smooth and adjustable and typically lasts around 6–18 months. Your doctor will choose the product that suits your tissue and explain why.
Which layer it targets and who it suits
Our doctors work with an 8-layer Skin Architecture model — epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone. Under-eye hollows usually start deep: as we age, bone and deep fat change, support tissue weakens and the fat above descends. That is why a doctor normally places support close to the bone first and keeps product well away from the thin surface skin.
It also means the under-eye cannot be judged on its own. Sometimes the real cause of a hollow is a loss of support in the mid-cheek, and treating the cheek first gives a more natural result. Under-eye filler may suit you if you have:
- A visible groove or hollow below the lower lid
- Shadowing that makes you look tired despite enough rest
- Reasonably good skin quality and no large under-eye bags
It is often not the best first step if the main issue is puffiness, prominent eye bags, or dark circles caused by pigment or visible vessels. In those cases the doctor may suggest another approach or a different specialist. Read more on under-eye hollows and dark circles .
What happens on the day
A director sees you from the first consultation. They look at your eyes and cheeks in different lights and angles, may use Mark-Vu imaging to review pigment and skin condition, and talk through what is realistic. If filler is suitable, the area is cleansed and the doctor injects small amounts slowly, checking the result as they go. It is a short procedure, and the doctor will discuss comfort options beforehand. Your plan and treatment are recorded in your Skin Library.
Downtime, results and how long they last
The hollow usually looks softer straight away. Mild swelling or small bruises are possible, and the under-eye area can take a little longer to settle than other parts of the face. On the day:
- Avoid touching or rubbing the area for 4–6 hours
- No sauna, alcohol or strenuous exercise that day
- Follow any additional advice your doctor gives you
HA filler typically lasts around 6–18 months; how it looks and how long it lasts vary from person to person.
Often combined with
For a refreshed look, under-eye filler is often planned with cheek filler to restore mid-face support, or with treatments that improve thin under-eye skin, such as Rejuran or skin boosters . The doctor will suggest an order that makes sense for you.
Is it right for me?
Because the tear trough is a delicate area, we take a conservative approach. If the doctor feels filler would not improve your concern — or that another treatment would give a better result — they will say so. Please mention any eye conditions, previous under-eye treatment, or pregnancy at consultation.
For international visitors
Under-eye filler is usually compatible with a short trip, but we suggest booking it early in your stay so the swelling has time to settle and the doctor can see you again if needed. Under-eye filler: common questions
Will under-eye filler fix my dark circles?
It depends on the cause. If the darkness is mainly a shadow from a hollow, filler may reduce it. If it comes from pigment, visible vessels or thin skin, other treatments are usually more suitable, and the doctor will explain this at consultation.
Is under-eye filler safe?
Every injectable carries some risk, and the under-eye area needs particular care. Our doctors assess you first, use small amounts at a deep level and discuss possible side effects before treatment. If filler is not a good fit, they will suggest an alternative.
How long does swelling last?
Mild swelling or bruising is common for a few days, and the under-eye can take a little longer to settle than other areas. Avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and hard exercise on the day.
How much does it cost?
The amount needed varies from person to person, and some people also need cheek support. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
