WhatsApp Pre-Consultation
Ask questions, share photos and plan your visit in English before you fly. Your in-person consultation with a director then confirms the final plan.
What a WhatsApp pre-consultation is
Before you travel, you can message Obliv Clinic Seoul Origin on WhatsApp in English to talk through your concerns, ask about treatments and get help planning your visit. It is a practical way to arrive in Seoul with a clear idea of what to expect, how long to allow and roughly what it may cost.
It is important to be clear about what it is not. A chat on WhatsApp cannot replace an in-person examination. Skin and facial structure need to be seen, assessed with Mark-Vu imaging and, where relevant, touched, before a doctor can confirm what is suitable. The pre-consultation helps you prepare; the director who sees you in clinic makes the final plan.
How it works, step by step
1. Start the conversation
Open wa.link/oblivmyeongdong and say hello. Mention that you are visiting from abroad and would like some guidance before booking.
2. Describe your goals
Explain what you would like to improve in your own words: "my skin looks tired", "I have acne scars on my cheeks", "I want a sharper jawline". There is no need to know treatment names.
3. Share photos (optional)
If you are comfortable, send two or three photos: front and both sides, in natural daylight, without make-up or filters. Close-ups of a specific area, such as scars or pigment, can also help.
4. Mention your history
Let us know about previous treatments (with approximate dates), current medications, allergies, and any skin conditions. If you have had filler, Botox or lasers recently, this can affect timing.
5. Share your travel dates
Your arrival and departure dates help us suggest a realistic schedule, especially if a treatment has some downtime or reaches its peak a week or two later.
6. Receive guidance
The team will reply with likely options, an idea of how many visits may be useful, and a personalised quote where possible. You can then book a consultation time.
Taking good photos
- Face a window in daylight; avoid harsh overhead light.
- Remove make-up and turn off beauty filters.
- Keep a neutral expression, plus one photo smiling or frowning if lines are a concern.
- Hold the camera at eye level, about an arm's length away.
Your privacy
Only share what you are comfortable with. Photos are used to help the team understand your concern and plan your visit. If you prefer not to send photos, a written description is fine.
After the pre-consultation
When you arrive, a director reviews what you discussed, examines your skin and confirms the plan. It may change once the doctor sees you in person, for example if the barrier needs reinforcement first, or a different depth of treatment would suit you better. Afterwards, every treatment is recorded in your Skin Library, and you can continue to message us on WhatsApp with aftercare questions once you are home.
Response times
The team replies during clinic hours: the Skin, Body and Scalp clinics are open Monday to Friday 10:00–21:00 and at weekends 10:00–19:00, Korean time. Messages sent outside these hours are answered when the clinic reopens.
A sample first message
Not sure how to start? You can copy and adapt something like this:
“Hello, I am visiting Seoul from abroad from 12 to 18 May. I would like to improve pigment on my cheeks and my skin feels a little dull. I had laser toning about six months ago at home and I have no allergies. Could you suggest options, how many visits might help during my stay, and a quote? I can send photos if useful.”
A message like this gives the team everything they need for a useful first reply: your dates, your goals in plain words, recent treatment history and a request for a quote.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Booking flights so tightly that there is no time for a follow-up check.
- Leaving out recent injectables or medications because they seem minor.
- Expecting the final plan by message — the director confirms it in person.
- Waiting until you land to get in touch; a few days' notice makes scheduling easier, especially for weekend appointments .

WhatsApp consultation: common questions
Is the WhatsApp consultation with a doctor?
The WhatsApp conversation helps you plan and prepare. Your in-person consultation is with a director, who examines you and confirms what is suitable.
Can you tell me exactly which treatment I need from photos?
Photos help the team suggest likely options, but a final recommendation needs an in-person examination. The plan may change once the doctor sees your skin.
Can I get a price before I travel?
Yes, the team can give a personalised quote based on what you share. It may be adjusted if the doctor recommends a different plan at consultation.
Can I message after I go home?
Yes. You can continue to contact us on WhatsApp with aftercare questions once you are back home.
