BodyLab rehabilitation medicine
BodyLab, on the B1 level of Pagoda Tower, is Obliv's rehabilitation medicine clinic. It offers doctor-led assessment and care for how your body moves and feels, not just how it looks.
What BodyLab is
BodyLab is the rehabilitation medicine clinic of Obliv Clinic Seoul Origin, located on the B1 level of Pagoda Tower. Rehabilitation medicine is the medical specialty concerned with restoring and maintaining function — how muscles, joints and posture work together to let you move comfortably. While our upper floors focus on skin, scalp and nails, BodyLab looks after the body's movement and comfort.
All care at BodyLab is doctor-led. A doctor assesses you first and recommends an approach based on what they find. Specific treatments are explained at consultation rather than chosen from a fixed menu.
Why people visit BodyLab
- Neck, shoulder or back stiffness from long hours at a desk or on a phone
- Posture concerns, such as rounded shoulders or forward head posture
- Muscle tension or discomfort after sport, exercise or a lot of walking
- Joint discomfort that affects everyday movement
- Wanting a professional assessment of how you move, as part of looking after your overall wellbeing
Assessment comes first
Pain and stiffness can come from muscles, joints, nerves, posture habits or other medical conditions. Some causes are simple and respond to targeted care; others need further investigation. At BodyLab a doctor takes your history, asks about your work, activity and symptoms, and examines how you move. If they feel something needs additional tests or a different kind of medical care, they will explain this clearly and advise on next steps.
How BodyLab fits with the rest of Obliv
Our wider approach is built on understanding structure layer by layer. In the face, our 8-layer Skin Architecture model runs from the epidermis down through fat, fascia and muscle to bone. BodyLab applies a similar idea to the body: look at how the deeper structures — muscles, fascia and joints — are working, rather than focusing only on the surface symptom. Because BodyLab is in the same building as our Skin & Body Clinic, Scalp Clinic and Footcare & Nail Clinic, it is easy to combine visits.
What happens at your visit
You will be welcomed at B1 and meet a doctor for an assessment. Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely. The doctor will discuss your concerns and goals, examine you and explain what they think is contributing to your symptoms. If care is suitable, it may begin the same day, and you will usually receive practical guidance to follow between visits — for example on posture, movement or daily habits.
Results and expectations
How quickly you feel a difference depends on the cause, how long symptoms have been present and how consistently you follow the guidance given. Some people notice more comfort soon after a session; longer-standing issues usually need a series of visits and changes at home. Results vary from person to person, and the doctor will give you realistic expectations.
Tips while travelling
- Long flights and heavy bags often aggravate neck and back stiffness — move and stretch gently during the journey
- Wear supportive shoes for a walking-heavy city trip
- Mention any recent injury, surgery or medical condition at your appointment
For international visitors
BodyLab is open Monday to Friday 10:00–21:00 and Saturday 10:00–19:00, so a visit can fit around sightseeing or business. Message us on WhatsApp in English with your dates and a short description of your concern, and ask for a personalised quote.
Preparing for your appointment
A little preparation helps the doctor understand your situation quickly:
- Note when your symptoms started and what makes them better or worse
- Bring a list of medicines and any previous scans or reports, if you have them
- Think about your typical day — desk hours, exercise, sleep position, how you carry bags
- Wear loose, comfortable clothes and avoid a heavy meal just beforehand
If you are also booking skin or foot care in the same building, tell us on WhatsApp so we can arrange the order of visits. Many people combine a BodyLab assessment with a visit to our Footcare & Nail Clinic on 5F.
