What "long-lasting" really means
No non-surgical treatment is permanent. The skin keeps ageing, collagen continues to decline by roughly 1% a year from around 20, and the body gradually breaks down injected products. So "long-lasting" really means two things: choosing treatments with a longer typical duration, and building a plan in which each step supports the others so the overall effect holds up between visits.
This is especially relevant for international visitors who may only be in Seoul once or twice a year. Rather than chasing a quick effect, it often makes more sense to invest in treatments that work with your own tissue.
Which layers are involved
At Obliv Clinic Seoul Origin we use an 8-layer Skin Architecture model — epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone. Ageing tends to work from the inside out: bone and deep fat change first, support tissue loosens, fat descends, and hollows and sagging appear on the surface. Results tend to last longer when the deeper layers that hold everything up are addressed, rather than only the surface.
Building a plan
Here are typical durations, all of which vary from person to person:
- Collagen stimulators (PCL, PLLA): results start at one to three months, peak at three to six, and last around 12 to 24 months.
- HIFU lifting (Ultherapy PRIME, OLIGIO HIFU, CoolSoniq): immediate effect plus development over three to six months; typically lasts around 12 to 18 months.
- CaHA filler: around 12 to 18 months, and also stimulates collagen.
- HA filler: around 6 to 18 months depending on the product and area.
- RF tightening (Thermage, OLIGIO X, ALLTITE, Sofwave): around 6 to 12 months.
- Botox: around 4 to 6 months.
Order matters
When volume is needed, we follow a dual-plane approach: structural support just above the bone first, then the fat layer, and muscle last. Energy lifting and collagen stimulation are often paired, because lifting tightens existing tissue while stimulators encourage new collagen. Our Energy Lifting + Collagen Stimulator combination is built on that idea.
Supporting skin quality
Treatments such as Rejuran , exosomes and skin boosters support regeneration. Collagen and HA injections give quick hydration and elasticity but need regular top-ups, so they are better seen as maintenance than as long-term foundations.
Timeline before a trip or event
Durable treatments tend to take time to reach their peak. Collagen stimulators and energy lifting usually reach their full effect three to six months after treatment, so if you have a specific event, plan your Seoul visit well ahead. Mild swelling, bruising or temporary lumpiness can occur after collagen stimulators. On injection days, avoid touching the area for four to six hours and skip saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise.
Keeping results
- Protect your collagen: UV breaks it down, so use sunscreen daily.
- Keep using the barrier-friendly home care prescribed, matched to pH 5.5.
- Plan a yearly or twice-yearly review; your Skin Library record shows exactly what was done and when.
- Think by decade: prevention in your 20s, maintenance in your 30s, and a combination of energy, stimulation and volume from your 40s.
What to prioritise if you visit once a year
If a single annual visit is realistic, it usually makes sense to put the deeper, slower-building treatments first and leave quick top-ups for when you happen to be in Seoul again. A typical order of priority looks like this, although the doctor will adjust it after examining your skin:
- Structure: energy lifting and collagen stimulation, because these take three to six months to mature and keep working after you fly home.
- Support: volume restored in the right plane where hollowing is part of the picture.
- Skin quality: regenerative treatments such as skin boosters, added once the foundation is in place.

Long-lasting results: common questions
Which treatment lasts the longest?
Among the options we offer, collagen stimulators such as PCL and PLLA typically last the longest, around 12 to 24 months. HIFU and CaHA filler are typically around 12 to 18 months. Duration varies from person to person.
Why not just have more filler?
Adding volume alone does not address skin quality or loosening support tissue, and too much can look unnatural. A layered plan that combines structure, collagen stimulation and lifting often gives a more natural, durable result.
How often should I come back?
Many people plan a review once or twice a year. The doctor will suggest intervals based on what was done, and your Skin Library record keeps track of it all.
Are there side effects with collagen stimulators?
Temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness can occur. The doctor explains aftercare on the day, and you can contact us on WhatsApp if you have questions once you are home.
