CaHA filler in Seoul

CaHA (calcium hydroxylapatite) filler adds firm structural support and also encourages the skin to produce its own collagen. It is often chosen when deeper support and longer-lasting results are the priority.

What CaHA filler is and how it works

CaHA stands for calcium hydroxylapatite — tiny mineral microspheres suspended in a smooth gel. When injected, the gel provides immediate volume and support. Over time the gel is absorbed, and the microspheres act as a scaffold that encourages your own cells to lay down new collagen around them. Eventually the microspheres themselves are broken down naturally.

This double action is what sets CaHA apart from hyaluronic acid (HA) filler . HA mainly adds volume and hydration; CaHA adds firmer structure and supports collagen production, which can improve the quality of the tissue in the treated area as well as its shape.

Which layer it targets and who it suits

Facial ageing happens from the inside out: bone changes, deep fat pads shrink, the support tissue weakens, and fat slides downwards, leaving hollows above and heaviness below. In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model — epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone — CaHA is typically placed deep, close to the bone , where firm support is needed most.

Obliv follows a dual-plane approach: structural support just above the bone first, then refinement in the fat layer, with muscle addressed last. CaHA's firmness makes it well suited to that first, foundational step.

CaHA filler is often considered for:

  • Defining the jawline and chin with firm structure
  • Restoring cheekbone support in the midface
  • Softening hollows where tissue has also become thinner
  • People who want results that tend to last longer than many HA fillers

CaHA is generally not used in very delicate or thin areas such as directly under the eyes, where a soft HA filler is usually preferred. If you want collagen stimulation without much added volume, a PCL or PLLA collagen stimulator may suit better.

What happens on the day

A director sees you from the first consultation. The doctor examines your face from several angles to understand where support has been lost and which areas would benefit most from firm structure. The products and areas used are recorded in your Skin Library so future treatments can build on them.

The area is cleansed and numbed for comfort. The doctor injects deep with a fine needle or blunt cannula and may gently mould the product to sit evenly. Most people feel pressure and mild discomfort.

Downtime, results and how long they last

Results are visible straight away, with some swelling and possible bruising for a few days. On the day, avoid touching or pressing the area for 4–6 hours, and skip saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise.

Temporary swelling, bruising or a slightly firm, lumpy feel can occur while the product settles. CaHA filler typically lasts around 12–18 months , with the collagen it stimulates supporting the area over that time. Results vary from person to person.

Often combined with

CaHA is frequently combined with softer HA filler for finer areas, with energy-based lifting such as Thermage FLX for skin laxity, and with Botox for movement-related lines. The doctor will explain the right order.

Is it right for me?

CaHA suits people needing deep, structural support. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is infection in the area, and previous fillers and medical history are reviewed first. Unlike HA, CaHA cannot be dissolved with an enzyme, so careful planning is essential — which is why the doctor decides suitability at consultation.

For international visitors

Because results are immediate and downtime is short, CaHA fits into most stays in Seoul. Allow a few days for swelling to settle before flying or photos. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.

Questions worth asking at consultation

Since CaHA is firm and cannot be dissolved, it is worth discussing the plan in detail before treatment. Useful questions include:

  • Which areas would benefit from firm, deep support rather than a softer HA gel?
  • How would CaHA's collagen stimulation help my skin quality?
  • Should CaHA be combined with HA in finer areas of my face?
  • What aftercare will help the product settle evenly?

Questions about CaHA filler

  • How is CaHA different from HA filler?

HA filler mainly adds volume and hydration. CaHA is firmer, provides structural support and also stimulates collagen, and it typically lasts around 12–18 months. The doctor chooses based on the area and the kind of support needed.

  • Can CaHA be used under the eyes?

Generally not. The skin under the eyes is thin and delicate, so a soft HA filler is usually preferred there. CaHA is better suited to deeper structural areas such as the jawline, chin and cheekbones.

  • Can CaHA be dissolved?

Unlike HA filler, CaHA cannot be dissolved with an enzyme. This is one reason careful planning and doctor assessment are important before treatment.

  • What side effects are possible?

Temporary swelling, bruising or a slightly firm, lumpy feel can occur while the product settles. The doctor will explain aftercare and what to watch for.
