Energy lifting + collagen stimulator
Energy devices tighten and lift; collagen stimulators help the skin rebuild its own support over the following months. Together they work on firmness from two directions.
What this combination is
This plan pairs two different kinds of treatment. Energy lifting — HIFU or radiofrequency — delivers controlled heat into the skin and deeper support layers, producing some immediate tightening and triggering collagen renewal over the following months. Collagen stimulators are injectable substances such as PCL or PLLA that prompt a controlled foreign-body response: fibroblasts are encouraged to make new collagen around them, and the substance itself gradually dissolves.
Energy lifting combines well with collagen stimulators because they complement each other. The device tightens and lifts; the stimulator helps rebuild the density and quality of the tissue that holds that lift.
Why collagen matters
Collagen falls by roughly 1% a year from around age 20, declines faster after menopause, and is broken down by UV exposure. Over time the dermis thins, skin loses its spring and the face begins to look softer and less defined. Lifting alone can tighten what is there, but if there is little collagen left, results can feel less robust. Adding stimulation addresses that underlying loss.
Which layers it targets and who it suits
In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, energy devices can be chosen for different depths: Ultherapy PRIME or OLIGIO HIFU for deep support towards the SMAS, Thermage or OLIGIO X for the dermis. Collagen stimulators are placed in the dermis or subcutaneous layer depending on the product and the goal.
This approach may suit you if:
- You are in your late 30s, 40s or beyond and notice laxity along with thinner skin
- Lifting results have felt short-lived in the past
- You want gradual, natural-looking improvement rather than instant volume
- You are interested in longer-lasting maintenance
What happens on the day
A director examines your face, discusses your goals and maps which layers need attention. The plan is recorded in your Skin Library. Energy treatment and stimulator injections may be done in the same visit or staged, depending on the products used and the doctor's judgement. After injections, avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and strenuous exercise that day.
Downtime, results and how long they last
Energy lifting usually involves limited downtime, with a pulling sensation right after. Collagen stimulators can cause temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness that settles over time.
- Energy lifting: noticeable change in 1–3 months, final around 3–6 months. HIFU results typically last around 12–18 months; RF around 6–12 months.
- Collagen stimulators: results start around 1–3 months, peak around 3–6 months and last roughly 12–24 months.
Because both build gradually, improvement tends to look natural rather than sudden. Results vary from person to person.
Is it right for me?
If your main concern is hollowing rather than laxity, filler or a volume-focused plan may be more appropriate. If you are in your 20s, lighter prevention may be enough. If you need very quick, visible change before an event, the doctor will explain the timeline honestly, as stimulators take months to peak. Our Ultherapy + Thermage combination is another option when laxity is the main issue.
For international visitors
Both treatments can be done in a single trip, with results continuing to develop at home. Plan injections early in your stay so any swelling or bruising can settle before you fly. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and ask for a personalised quote.
Aftercare in the first week
- Expect a pulling or slightly tender feeling after energy treatment; this usually eases on its own
- Follow any massage instructions the doctor gives for the stimulator — and do not massage unless advised
- Use gentle cleansing and pH-5.5-matched home care
- Apply SPF50+ daily, since UV breaks down the collagen you are trying to build
Keep a note of how your skin feels and send the team a photo on WhatsApp if swelling or lumpiness concerns you. For tips on sequencing treatments in one stay, see combining treatments in one trip .

Questions about this combination
Why add a collagen stimulator to lifting?
Energy devices tighten and lift, while stimulators encourage the skin to rebuild collagen around them. Together they address both laxity and the loss of underlying support, which can help results feel more robust.
Can both be done on the same visit?
Sometimes, depending on the products used and your skin. The doctor will decide whether to treat on the same day or stage the treatments, and will plan around your time in Seoul.
Will a collagen stimulator add volume like filler?
Not in the same way. Stimulators work gradually by encouraging your own collagen, so improvement builds over months and looks subtle. If you need structural volume, filler may be discussed as well.
What side effects should I expect?
After energy lifting, mild redness or a pulling feeling is common. Stimulator injections can cause temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness that settles over time. The doctor will explain what to watch for and how to care for the area.
