How long should you stay in Seoul for treatment?

The right length of stay depends on what you are having done, how your skin recovers and whether a check before you fly would help. Here is how to think it through.

Why there is no single answer

At Obliv, every plan starts with a diagnosis: a director examines your skin, Mark-Vu imaging maps pigment, pores, wrinkles, redness and oil–moisture balance, and the doctor decides which of the skin's eight layers your concern starts in. Only then is a device or injectable chosen. That means the ideal number of days in Seoul depends on the plan that comes out of your consultation, not on a fixed package. What follows is a general guide to help you book flights sensibly. Your doctor will give you advice specific to you.

The building blocks of a visit

  • Consultation and skin analysis. Your first appointment includes time with a director and imaging. Many treatments can be done on the same day once the plan is agreed.
  • Barrier preparation. We reinforce the skin barrier with ingredients such as ceramides and hyaluronic acid before main treatments and protect it afterwards. This is usually part of the same visit.
  • Settling time. Some treatments show little on the surface; others need a few quiet days before you feel comfortable flying or being photographed.
  • An optional check. If you can, leave room for a short return visit before you fly so the team can see how your skin is responding.

Rough guidance by treatment type

Energy lifting

HIFU treatments such as Ultherapy PRIME and RF treatments such as Thermage are usually a single session. You may feel a pulling sensation straight away, but the main change builds over the following months as collagen remodels — noticeable at around 1–3 months, with the final result at 3–6 months. A short stay can work well, because most of the improvement happens after you are home.

Botox and filler

Botox starts to work in about 3–7 days and reaches its peak at around 2 weeks. If you would like the doctor to review the result in person, a longer stay helps. Filler gives an immediate change in shape, but on the day you should avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and strenuous exercise. Allowing a few days for any swelling or bruising to settle before a long flight is sensible.

Thread lifts and collagen stimulators

MINT Lift gives an immediate lift, while collagen stimulators such as PCL or PLLA work gradually, starting at 1–3 months. Temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness is possible, so it is wise not to schedule treatment on your very last day.

Laser and skin renewal

Skin cells renew roughly every 28 days, so pigment and texture treatments usually work as a course. Toning and pico sessions often involve little downtime, so they fit easily into a short trip. Deeper resurfacing such as CO2 laser needs proper recovery time, and acne scar programmes typically involve 3–5 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart — something to plan across more than one trip.

Three common trip patterns

  1. Short stay. Consultation, one main treatment with barrier care, and prescribed home care to take with you. Best suited to energy lifting or gentle laser toning.
  2. Stay of a week or more. Time for a consultation, treatment and a check before you leave. Useful for injectables or combinations where settling time matters.
  3. Repeat visits. A first session on this trip and further sessions on later trips, with your Skin Library record keeping every step on file.

Practical tips for booking flights

  • Book your consultation early in the trip, not the day before you fly.
  • Send your travel dates when you message us so the team can suggest realistic timing.
  • Check our downtime and travel guide before deciding on combinations.
  • Evening and weekend appointments are available: Skin, Body and Scalp clinics are open Mon–Fri 10:00–21:00 and Sat–Sun 10:00–19:00.

If you are unsure, message us with what you would like to improve and how many days you have. We would rather suggest a gentler plan that suits your schedule than squeeze in more than your skin can comfortably handle. Results vary from person to person.

Questions about length of stay

  • Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?

Often, yes. Once a director has examined your skin and agreed the plan with you, many treatments can follow the same day. Let us know your schedule in advance so we can allow enough time.

  • Is a weekend in Seoul long enough?

For some treatments, such as a single energy lifting session or gentle laser toning, a short stay can work. For injectables or combinations, a few extra days give swelling time to settle and allow a check before you fly.

  • What if I need more than one session?

Some treatments work best as a course spaced weeks apart. We can start on this trip and plan further sessions for later visits, with every treatment recorded in your Skin Library.

  • Should I avoid treatment on my last day?

It is generally better not to. Leaving a little time after treatment means you are not travelling during the most sensitive period and the team can answer any questions before you leave.
