Chin filler in Seoul

A small change to the chin can rebalance the whole face. Chin filler adds projection and definition, helping the profile, lips and jawline look more harmonious — without surgery.

What chin filler is

Chin filler uses an injectable gel to reshape the chin — bringing it forward, lengthening it slightly, or refining its outline. The most common choice is hyaluronic acid (HA) filler ; for firmer structural support, CaHA filler may be used. The goal is balance: the chin is the anchor of the lower face, and its shape affects how the nose, lips and jawline are perceived.

A chin that sits back can make the nose look larger, the lips more prominent and the jaw-neck line less defined. Restoring projection can make the profile look more balanced and the lower face more refined, even when no other area is treated.

Which layers are involved

Facial structure begins with bone. In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model — epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone — chin filler is usually placed deep, close to the bone , where it acts like a subtle structural extension. Smaller amounts may then be placed more superficially to refine contour and soften any dimpling.

This mirrors Obliv's dual-plane approach to volume: first build support just above the bone, then refine within the fat layer, and consider muscle last. In the chin, the muscle matters too — an overactive chin muscle can cause a dimpled "orange peel" texture, which Botox may help soften.

Who it suits

  • A chin that sits back in profile, or a short chin
  • A lower face that looks out of balance with the nose or lips
  • A jawline that lacks a clear finishing point at the front
  • People who want a slimmer-looking, more V-shaped lower face

If width at the back of the jaw is the main concern, jawline (masseter) Botox is often combined with chin filler. If fullness under the chin softens the profile, Onda Face may be suggested for the fat layer.

What happens on the day

A director sees you from the first consultation. The doctor studies your face in profile and from the front, considering the relationship between nose, lips, chin and neck, and discusses what kind of change suits you. The plan is saved in your Skin Library.

After cleansing and numbing, filler is placed with a fine needle or blunt cannula and gently shaped. Most people feel pressure rather than pain, and the change is visible immediately.

Downtime, results and how long they last

Mild swelling and occasional bruising may last a few days. On the day, avoid touching or pressing the chin for 4–6 hours, and skip saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise.

HA filler typically lasts around 6–18 months; CaHA typically lasts around 12–18 months. Results vary from person to person.

Often combined with

For a defined lower face, chin filler is often paired with masseter Botox, Onda for under-chin fullness, or HIFU such as CoolSoniq to tighten the jawline. The doctor will explain the order.

Is it right for me?

Chin filler suits mild to moderate changes in projection. Where a significant structural difference is present, the doctor will discuss what filler can and cannot achieve. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with infection in the area.

For international visitors

Chin filler fits easily into a short stay. Allow a few days for swelling to settle before photos or flights. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote, and send side-profile photos for an initial view.

Questions worth asking at consultation

Before chin filler, it helps to be clear about the kind of change you want. Bring a few photos of yourself in profile, and think about whether you notice your chin most from the side, from the front or when you smile. Useful questions to ask the doctor include:

  • Is my chin set back, short, or both — and which matters more for my profile?
  • Would HA or CaHA suit my anatomy better, and why?
  • Should the jaw, under-chin area or nose-lip balance be considered at the same time?
  • How much change is realistic with filler, and when would a top-up be sensible?

Questions about chin filler

  • Can chin filler make my face look slimmer?

Adding projection to the chin can make the lower face look longer and more tapered, which many people perceive as slimmer. Combining it with masseter Botox or Onda can enhance this effect where appropriate.

  • Is chin filler an alternative to a chin implant?

It can be a non-surgical option for mild to moderate changes. Results are temporary and the amount of change is more limited than surgery, which the doctor will explain honestly at consultation.

  • How long does it last?

HA filler typically lasts around 6–18 months, and CaHA around 12–18 months. This varies with the product, the amount used and the individual.

  • What about a dimpled chin?

A dimpled or "orange peel" chin is often caused by an overactive chin muscle. Botox may help relax it, and the doctor may combine this with filler for a smoother result.
