Fine lines treatment in Seoul

Fine lines are often the first sign that skin is losing hydration and collagen. We look at whether they come from dryness, thinning or movement, then support the upper layers so the skin looks smoother and more rested.

What fine lines are

Fine lines are shallow creases on the surface of the skin — often around the eyes, across the forehead, on the cheeks when you smile, or around the mouth. Unlike deep wrinkles or folds, they tend to come and go: more visible when skin is dry or tired, softer after a good night's sleep or a hydrating mask. That changeability is a useful clue. It tells us fine lines are mostly about the quality of the upper layers of skin, rather than about structural sagging underneath.

Why they appear and which layer is involved

In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, fine lines usually start in the epidermis and upper dermis . Three things tend to combine:

  • Dehydration. When the barrier is weak, the skin loses water and the surface creases more easily. See dry and dehydrated skin .
  • Collagen decline. Collagen falls by roughly 1% a year from around the age of 20, faster after menopause, and UV exposure breaks it down further. Thinner, less elastic upper dermis folds more readily.
  • Repeated movement. Expressions such as smiling and squinting fold the same areas thousands of times. Over years these temporary creases start to linger.

If lines have become deeper and stay visible at rest, the cause may also involve muscle or deeper support — see crow's feet or forehead wrinkles .

How Obliv approaches fine lines

  • Diagnosis first. A director examines your skin at rest and in movement, and Mark-Vu imaging records wrinkles and oil–moisture balance, so we know whether hydration, collagen or movement is the main driver.
  • Barrier and hydration. We reinforce the barrier with ingredients such as ceramides and hyaluronic acid. Skin boosters (with ingredients such as HA, PDRN, exosomes or growth factors) and Mirajet can deliver hydration into the skin for a smoother surface.
  • Supporting regeneration. Rejuran and exosome treatments support the skin's regenerative environment, which can help improve fine crepey lines over a course.
  • Softening movement lines. Where expression is the main cause, skin Botox or targeted Botox may be suggested; your doctor will explain which is appropriate. Botox usually starts working in 3–7 days and peaks around 2 weeks.
  • Firming the upper dermis. Sofwave works at 1.5 mm in the upper dermis for texture and instant firmness, and ALLTITE targets the upper dermis for tightening and texture.

What to expect

Hydrating treatments such as boosters and Mirajet tend to give a quick improvement in smoothness, but need regular top-ups to maintain. Botox lasts around 4–6 months. Energy treatments and regenerative injections build more gradually as new collagen forms over the following weeks and months. Most of these options involve little downtime — perhaps mild redness or small injection marks for a short time. Results vary from person to person, and your doctor will suggest a realistic plan for your age and skin.

Caring for your skin between visits

  • Wear SPF50+ every day — UV is one of the main causes of collagen breakdown.
  • Moisture matters: use the pH-5.5-matched home care we prescribe morning and night.
  • Avoid over-exfoliating, which weakens the barrier and makes lines look sharper.

Visiting from abroad

Fine lines are well suited to short stays because many treatments have little downtime. A consultation plus boosters, Botox or Sofwave can usually fit into a few days. Message us on WhatsApp with photos and your dates, and we will help you plan.

Prevention by decade

Fine lines are one of the easiest concerns to influence early, and the focus shifts as skin changes over time:

  • In your 20s: prevention. Daily sun protection, a healthy barrier and good hydration do much of the work, sometimes with occasional boosters.
  • In your 30s: maintenance. Regular hydration and regenerative treatments, with Botox for lines caused mainly by expression, help keep the surface smooth.
  • In your 40s and beyond: recovery. Combining energy treatments, collagen stimulation and, where needed, volume support usually gives a more balanced result than treating surface lines alone.

Questions about fine lines

  • What is the difference between fine lines and wrinkles?

Fine lines are shallow and often change with hydration and tiredness, while deeper wrinkles stay visible at rest and may involve muscle or deeper support. The difference affects which treatment your doctor recommends.

  • Do I need Botox for fine lines?

Not always. If lines come mainly from dryness or thinning skin, hydration and regenerative treatments may help more. Botox is considered when repeated movement is the main cause.

  • When will I see results?

Hydrating treatments can make skin look smoother quite quickly. Botox starts working in 3–7 days and peaks around 2 weeks, while collagen-building treatments improve gradually over weeks to months. Results vary from person to person.

  • Is it too early to treat fine lines in my 20s?

In your 20s the focus is usually prevention: sun protection, barrier care and light hydration support. Your doctor can advise whether any treatment is worthwhile for your skin now.
