Softer wrinkles in Seoul

Not all wrinkles are the same. Lines from movement, lines from lost collagen and folds from lost support each respond to different treatments — so we start by working out which you have.

What softer wrinkles really means

Softening wrinkles does not mean erasing every line. Lines are part of a living, expressive face. The goal is to reduce the ones that make you look tired, stern or older than you feel — so that your face looks relaxed at rest and still moves naturally when you talk and smile.

Wrinkles fall into three broad groups. Dynamic lines appear with movement: forehead lines when you raise your brows, frown lines between the brows, crow's feet when you smile. Static lines remain at rest, because collagen has thinned and the skin has creased over time. Folds , such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines, are mostly caused by lost volume and descending tissue rather than by the skin itself. Most faces show a mix of all three.

Which layers are involved

Our 8-layer Skin Architecture model links each type of line to a layer:

  • Muscle: repeated contraction creates dynamic lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes.
  • Upper and full-thickness dermis: collagen falls by roughly 1% a year from about age 20, and UV speeds this up. Thinner dermis creases more easily, leaving static lines.
  • Fat, support tissue and bone: as deep support reduces and fat descends, folds form around the mouth and chin.

A director examines your face at rest and in movement, and Mark-Vu imaging analyses wrinkles and texture, so each line is matched to the right approach.

Building a plan

A wrinkle plan usually combines treatments for each type of line:

  • Dynamic lines — relax the muscle. Botox relaxes overactive muscles. It works within 3–7 days, peaks at about two weeks and lasts around 4–6 months. Targeted options include forehead , frown line and crow's feet Botox. Skin Botox is used more superficially for fine texture.
  • Static lines — rebuild collagen. Collagen stimulators encourage new collagen over 1–3 months, peaking at 3–6. RF devices such as Sofwave or ALLTITE improve upper-dermis texture and firmness. Rejuran and skin boosters support regeneration.
  • Folds — restore support. Filler, such as nasolabial fold filler , can soften folds; often it works better when support is restored deeper first, following our dual-plane order: deep support, then fat layer, muscle last. Lifting may also help where tissue has descended.

All plans start with the barrier: reinforced before main treatments, protected afterwards.

Timeline before a trip or event

Botox is the quickest way to soften dynamic lines, peaking around two weeks after treatment — ideal to schedule two to three weeks before an event. Filler changes folds immediately, though allow a week or two for any swelling to settle. Collagen-based treatments build over months, so start three to six months ahead for the best effect. On a short stay in Seoul, Botox and filler fit easily into a single visit.

Keeping your results

  • Repeat Botox roughly every 4–6 months as needed.
  • HA filler typically lasts about 6–18 months; collagen stimulators about 12–24 months.
  • Daily SPF50+ and pH-5.5-matched home care help protect collagen.
  • On injection days, avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and strenuous exercise.

Results vary from person to person, and every session is kept in your Skin Library.

What to prioritise if time is short

If you only have a few days in Seoul, it helps to focus on the lines that bother you most and leave slower work for later. A common order of priority is:

  • First: lines that make you look stern or tired, such as frown lines between the brows, which often respond well to Botox.
  • Next: deeper folds around the mouth, if they are a main concern and you can allow time for any swelling to settle before flying.
  • Later: fine, static lines and crepey skin, which improve gradually with collagen-building treatments over several months.

Tell the team your travel dates when you message, and see our page on how long to stay for help planning the length of your visit. The doctor will confirm the right order for your face. Results vary from person to person.

Questions about softening wrinkles

  • Botox or filler — which do I need?

Botox relaxes muscles and suits lines that appear with movement. Filler restores volume and suits folds and some deeper static lines. Many people benefit from both in different areas; your doctor will advise after examining your face.

  • Can lines that stay at rest be improved?

Often, yes. Static lines are linked to collagen loss, so collagen stimulators, RF and regenerative treatments can help, sometimes combined with Botox to reduce further creasing. Improvement is gradual and varies from person to person.

  • Will I lose my expressions?

Doses can be tailored to soften lines while keeping natural movement. Let your doctor know how much expression you want to keep.

  • How much does it cost?

It depends on which areas and treatments are involved. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
