Men's Anti-Ageing in Seoul

Look rested and sharp, not "done". Our doctors plan subtle lifting, line softening and collagen support that respect a masculine face shape.

What men's anti-ageing really means

For most men, the aim is not to look younger at any cost. It is to look less tired, keep a defined jawline, and soften the deep frown or forehead lines that make the face look stern. Above all, the result should be something colleagues notice as "looking well" rather than as treatment.

Natural-looking results depend on respecting a masculine face shape: a straighter jawline, flatter cheeks and a stronger brow. Over-filling the cheeks or over-relaxing the forehead can feminise the face, so planning matters as much as the treatment itself. At Obliv Clinic Seoul Origin a director sees you from the first consultation and plans with that in mind.

Which layers are involved

Ageing works from the inside out. Bone gradually changes, deep fat pads shrink, support tissues loosen, fat descends, and hollows and sagging appear on the surface. Collagen production also falls by roughly 1% a year from about the age of 20, and sun exposure speeds up its breakdown.

Our 8-layer Skin Architecture model — epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone — helps the doctor identify where your changes are coming from, and so which depth to treat first.

Building a plan

Lifting and jawline definition

Focused ultrasound (HIFU) reaches set depths of 1.5, 3.0 or 4.5 mm. Ultherapy PRIME is the benchmark for deeper sagging and works at multiple depths; OLIGIO HIFU reaches the SMAS layer; CoolSoniq adds cooling for comfort. HIFU results show immediately and continue to develop over three to six months, typically lasting around 12 to 18 months.

Firmness and skin quality

Radiofrequency heats the dermis evenly. Thermage tightens across the whole dermis, OLIGIO X works on the lower dermis for collagen remodelling, and ALLTITE and Sofwave focus on the upper dermis for texture and instant firmness. RF results typically last around six to twelve months.

Lines and contour

Botox relaxes overactive muscles. In men it is commonly used for frown lines and forehead lines, using doses that soften rather than freeze, and for masseter contouring where the jaw looks heavy. It works in three to seven days, peaks at about two weeks and lasts around four to six months.

Collagen support and volume

Collagen stimulators such as PCL or PLLA trigger the body's own collagen production. Results start at one to three months, peak at three to six and last around 12 to 24 months; temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness are possible. Where structural support is lost, filler may be placed just above the bone first, with care taken to keep the face's natural lines. Energy lifting combines well with collagen stimulators.

Timeline before a trip or event

  • Two weeks or more ahead: Botox, so the effect has peaked.
  • Three to six months ahead: energy lifting and collagen stimulators, for the full effect.
  • Day of injections: avoid touching the area for four to six hours and skip saunas, alcohol and strenuous exercise.

Keeping results

Daily sunscreen does more for long-term skin ageing than almost anything else. Keep up the prescribed home care, matched to pH 5.5, and plan maintenance at the intervals suggested. Every treatment is logged in your Skin Library record, so each visit builds on the last. Results vary from person to person.

What to prioritise if time is short

Many men visit Seoul on business with only a day or two to spare. In that case the doctor will usually focus on the change that makes the biggest difference to how rested you look, rather than trying to do everything at once:

  • A heavy or tired lower face: energy lifting often comes first, because it keeps developing after you fly home.
  • A stern expression: softening frown lines with a light Botox dose can make the face look more approachable.
  • Dull, rough skin: skin-quality treatments can be added on a later visit.

Our guide for men covers practical questions about visiting, and the doctor will confirm what suits you at consultation.

Men's anti-ageing: common questions

  • Will I still be able to frown or raise my eyebrows?

That is usually the aim. For men, Botox doses are typically planned to soften lines while keeping natural expression. Your preferences are discussed with the doctor before treatment.

  • Is HIFU or RF better for me?

HIFU focuses energy at a specific depth and suits deeper sagging; RF heats the dermis more evenly for firmness and texture. Many plans use both. The doctor decides after assessing which layers are involved.

  • How painful is energy lifting?

Sensation varies from person to person and by device. CoolSoniq uses cooling and is generally more comfortable. Most people feel a pulling sensation afterwards.

  • When will I see results?

Botox peaks around two weeks. Energy lifting shows a noticeable change in one to three months and the final result at three to six months. Collagen stimulators build over a similar period.
