What youthful volume really means
A youthful face is not simply a fuller face. It is a face where volume sits in the right places: rounded cheeks that catch light, smooth temples, a soft under-eye area and a lower face that is not weighed down. With time, that balance shifts. Some areas hollow, others sag, and shadows appear in places that used to be smooth — the cheeks, temples, under the eyes and around the mouth.
Restoring youthful volume means rebuilding that balance with restraint. The best results usually look as though you have slept well and feel rested, rather than as though something has been added. Too much volume in the wrong layer is exactly what makes results look unnatural.
Which layers are involved
Facial ageing works from the inside out. In our 8-layer Skin Architecture model, it typically follows a sequence:
- Bone: the facial skeleton gradually changes, reducing the foundation that everything else rests on.
- Deep fat and support tissue: deep fat pads shrink and the ligaments that hold tissue in place loosen.
- Superficial fat: fat then descends, creating hollows above and heaviness below.
- Dermis: collagen falls by roughly 1% a year from around age 20, and faster after menopause, so the skin covering everything becomes thinner and less elastic.
A director examines your face at rest and in movement to see which of these layers has changed most.
Building a plan
Our Volume·Shape programme uses a dual-plane approach: structural support just above the bone first, then the fat layer, and muscle last.
- Structural support. CaHA filler placed deep can rebuild support and also stimulates collagen; results typically last around 12–18 months. HA filler is versatile and reversible, lasting roughly 6–18 months depending on the product and area.
- Targeted areas. Cheek , temple and under-eye filler can restore shape where hollows have formed.
- Gradual, natural volume. Collagen stimulators such as PLLA and PCL encourage your own collagen. Results start at 1–3 months, peak at 3–6 months and can last around 12–24 months.
- Lift and support. JAMBER threads provide lift and volume while encouraging collagen and ligament support.
- Muscle balance. Botox may be added last to soften overactive muscles that drag features down.
Timeline before a trip or event
Filler gives an immediate change, but allow at least two weeks for swelling to settle and the result to soften. Collagen stimulators work gradually over months, so they are best started well ahead — three to six months if you have an event. Temporary swelling, bruising or lumpiness are possible after injections. On the day of treatment, avoid touching the area for 4–6 hours and skip sauna, alcohol and strenuous exercise. For a short visit to Seoul, filler can usually be done during your stay, with stimulators planned as a longer-term step.
Keeping your results
- Plan top-ups based on how your chosen product lasts in your face.
- Combine volume work with collagen support and, where needed, energy lifting for skin quality.
- Protect collagen with daily SPF50+ — UV breaks it down.
Results vary from person to person. Your Skin Library record keeps every product, area and amount on file, so future sessions build carefully on the last.
Filler or collagen stimulator: how they compare
Both can help restore volume, but they work in different ways, and many plans use them together:
- Speed: filler gives a visible change on the day; collagen stimulators build gradually, starting at one to three months.
- How it looks: filler shapes a specific area precisely; stimulators give a more diffuse improvement in firmness and thickness across a wider area.
- Duration: HA filler typically lasts around 6–18 months, CaHA around 12–18 months, and PCL or PLLA around 12–24 months.
- Best suited to: filler for defined hollows and structural support; stimulators for overall thinning and loss of firmness.
The doctor will suggest which suits your face, or how to combine them, at consultation. Our PCL collagen stimulator page explains that option in more detail. Results vary from person to person.

Questions about restoring volume
Will I look overfilled?
Our approach is to restore support where it was lost, starting deep and using restraint, rather than adding volume on the surface. The aim is a rested, natural look. Your doctor will discuss the amount and placement with you before treatment.
Filler or collagen stimulator — which is better?
Filler gives an immediate change in shape, while collagen stimulators work gradually by encouraging your own collagen. Many plans use both: filler for structure, stimulators for overall skin quality and subtle volume. The right mix depends on your face.
What side effects are possible?
Temporary swelling, bruising and, with stimulators, some lumpiness can occur and usually settle. Your doctor will explain the risks for each product and area at consultation.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the products, areas and amounts your plan needs. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
