NeoGen Plasma in Seoul
NeoGen is a nitrogen-plasma skin regeneration device. At Obliv Clinic it is one of our epidermis-level options for improving texture, scars and uneven tone.
What NeoGen is
NeoGen is a nitrogen-plasma skin regeneration device. It belongs to a group of treatments we use at Obliv Clinic for concerns that start in the outermost layer of the skin — rough texture, shallow scarring and uneven pigment. It is not a lifting device and does not add volume; its role is to help renew the skin surface.
Every regeneration device has its own settings, strengths and trade-offs. Your doctor will explain in detail at consultation how NeoGen compares with other resurfacing options we offer, such as U-Pulse fractional CO2 , CO2 laser resurfacing and Potenza RF microneedling , and why they would choose one over another for your skin.
Which layer it targets and who it suits
Our doctors plan with an 8-layer Skin Architecture model: epidermis, upper dermis, full-thickness dermis, lower dermis, subcutaneous fat, fascia, muscle and bone. The principle is simple — identify the layer where a concern begins, decide the depth of treatment, then choose the device. NeoGen is an epidermis-level treatment, used where the issue is on or near the surface.
NeoGen may be considered if you have:
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Shallow scarring, including some acne scars
- Uneven tone or surface pigment
- Skin that looks dull and would benefit from renewal
For deeper acne scars, the doctor may recommend a deeper-acting treatment instead or as well. See rough skin texture and acne scars .
Why repeat sessions matter
Skin cells turn over roughly every 28 days. Because regeneration treatments work with that natural cycle, results usually build over a course of sessions rather than appearing all at once. Your doctor will suggest a number of sessions and spacing based on your skin.
What happens on the day
A director sees you from the first consultation. Mark-Vu imaging can help analyse pores, pigment, wrinkles, redness and oil–moisture balance, and the findings are recorded in your Skin Library. Before treatment, we follow our barrier-first principle: the skin barrier is reinforced with ceramides and HA so the skin is ready for renewal. The doctor discusses comfort options and then carries out the treatment at the settings planned for you.
Downtime, results and aftercare
What you experience afterwards depends on the settings used, and the doctor will explain this before you begin. Afterwards, we focus on barrier protection and give you pH-5.5-matched prescribed home care to support recovery. Sun protection with SPF50+ is essential while the skin renews. Results and the number of sessions needed vary from person to person.
Often combined with
Depending on your goals, NeoGen may be combined with skin boosters or exosome therapy to support recovery, or used within a broader plan alongside pigment or scar treatments.
Is it right for me?
If your concern begins deeper — for example sagging, deep scarring or volume loss — a surface treatment will not be enough on its own, and the doctor will suggest a better match. If you have an active skin condition, recent sun exposure or a history of pigment problems after treatment, please tell the doctor so the plan can be adjusted.
For international visitors
Because NeoGen may involve some recovery time and usually works best over several sessions, ask the team when booking how it fits your travel dates. The clinic is about 5 minutes on foot from Jonggak and Euljiro 1-ga stations, close to Myeongdong, and our team can help you plan in English on WhatsApp.
How it compares with similar options
Patients often ask how NeoGen differs from the other resurfacing treatments on our menu. In broad terms, the choice depends on how deep the concern sits and how much recovery time you can allow.
- NeoGen: an epidermis-level plasma treatment for surface texture, shallow scarring and uneven tone
- U-Pulse: fractional CO2 for overall regeneration of the skin
- CO2 laser: resurfacing for deeper scars, with a longer recovery period
- Potenza: RF microneedling for pores and acne scars, with short downtime
- MCT and CUREJET: other epidermal-layer options used for texture and scar care
There is no single best device. After examining your skin, the doctor explains which option, or which combination, fits your concern, skin type and schedule.

NeoGen plasma: common questions
Is NeoGen a laser?
No. NeoGen is a nitrogen-plasma skin regeneration device rather than a laser. Your doctor will explain how it differs from laser options at consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
Because skin renews on roughly a 28-day cycle, results usually build over several sessions. The exact number depends on your skin and goals and is decided with your doctor.
Is there downtime?
It depends on the settings used. The doctor will explain what to expect before treatment so you can plan around work or travel.
How much does NeoGen cost?
It depends on the area and number of sessions. Ask us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
